North Connect is an overarching community engagement programme by Impactworks Community Services Ltd., designed to bring residents together through accessible recreational, social and interest-based activities.
About
Our Programme
The programme seeks to reduce social isolation, strengthen friendships and create regular opportunities for meaningful interaction among seniors, adults, youths and families in Yishun. By using familiar activities as points of connection, North Connect provides welcoming spaces where participants can relax, build relationships, develop confidence and experience a stronger sense of belonging.
North Connect currently comprises three programme pillars:

North Pool
North Pool uses 8-ball pool as a platform to engage youths in discipline, focus, character-building and positive mentorship. The programme connects young people with experienced seniors and mentors in a structured, encouraging environment.
Participants are encouraged to maintain good grades, complete their homework and develop good habits both inside and outside the game.
North Karaoke
North Karaoke uses music and singing to encourage self-expression, confidence and social connection. Participants can enjoy familiar songs, celebrate different cultures and generations, and build friendships through shared musical experiences.
North Mahjong
North Mahjong provides recreational mahjong sessions that encourage strategic thinking, memory, inter-generational social interaction and companionship. All sessions are conducted strictly for recreation and community engagement, with no gambling, betting or exchange of money.
Programme Objectives
North Connect aims to:

Intended Participants
North Connect welcomes seniors, adults, youths, families, volunteers and residents who wish to connect with others through shared recreational interests. Activities may be adapted to meet different mobility, language and support needs.
Our Desired Impact
Through North Connect, Impactworks seeks to build a more connected community in Yishun where individuals feel welcomed, valued and supported. Each programme provides a simple but meaningful pathway for residents to form relationships, remain socially active and experience love in action.
